About Us

The Child Development at Â鶹¸ßÇå is dedicated to providing integrated, collaborative care for a diverse population of children with a wide range of strengths and difficulties. We treat pateints age up to 11 years old as new patients and 21 years old as follow-up patient age. We are affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital, which is recognized as a top children's hospital in New York.

We provide evaluation, treatment and referral for conditions including:

• Motor coordination disorders and dyspraxia
• Autism spectrum disorder
• Cerebral palsy
• Language disorders
• School-related problems including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
• Sensory processing disorders
• Learning difficulties
• Genetic disorders with associated developmental delays

In addition, we develop plans to address behavioral difficulties including temper tantrums, sleep problems, and feeding disorders.

Services & Programs

We provide diagnostic evaluations and ongoing care for infants and children with developmental delays, disorders, and behavioral difficulties. We also provide recommendations for therapy, schooling, educational accommodations, and medication management.

Our behavioral psychologists collaborate with parents to define goals, teach agreed-upon strategies and coach parents to use those strategies independently. Our approach is non-judgmental, relationship-focused and presumes parent competence. We offer assistance and guidance regarding:

• Sleeping
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Discipline
• Daily schedules
• Parent-child communication
• Other behavioral issues

Pediatric Psychology services are available for patients seen in Â鶹¸ßÇå pediatric medical divisions. Youth with acute or chronic medical illness are at greater risk for mental health concerns. The Pediatric Psychology Service provides short-term mental health consultation and treatment and collaborates directly with your child’s medical team.
